Summer Reading Programs

Begun in 1995, this program has been designed with activities and challenges that you’ll find fun no matter what kind of books you like to read. Best of all, kids  earn a FREE book! Plus, parents can find activity kits that include fun activities about reading that can be completed with a child. Bring your completed reading journal into a Barnes & Noble store between July 1 and August 31 to redeem for your free book!

 

Color Our World Everyone can participate - ages 0 through adult - so the whole family can read this summer! This program is online, so register and play at the site listed to the left to earn digital badges and a free book at 1,000 points!

Make literacy come alive every day of the year! Our new daily calendars link to digital resources and reading activities designed to spark children’s interest. You’ll find relevant and seasonal ideas with quick links to free book resources ready to print, download, or play on your mobile device. Easy to share and easy to use!

 

From May 9^th through September 12^th, kids can visit the summer zone in Scholastic Home Base, a completely free digital destination which offers stories, characters, games, and a community of readers. Home Base is moderated for safety 24/7.
