My name is Melissa Schmitt. I am very excited to be your child's teacher. It is going to be a wonderful year at Sonoran Foothills!!! I feel very blessed to be a part of this school and staff!!!
I have been teaching Kindergarten for 26 years and I never want to leave! They are the best!!
I am a graduate of the University of Arizona with a MA in Elementary Education. (Go Cats!) I also have my Reading Specialist, Early Childhood, and SEI Certification. I am currently working towards my Gifted Endorsement to elevate my program for those special students. (I know you all have one!)
I have two beautiful children. My daughter is a senior at NAU, and my son is a senior at Boulder Creek. When I say I understand what you're going through, I really do!
I love the outdoors, hiking, biking, running, and kayaking.
