Welcome back Bobcat families! My name is Elena Russell and I am your student's Social Studies teacher. I have been teaching since 2018 and at Sonoran Foothills since 2024. I was previously a middle school teacher in Flagstaff teaching sixth, seventh, and eighth grade math. Although I miss the mountains, I am happy to be back in the Valley.
My husband, Matt, and I have two daughters who attend ASU Poly and are Barrett Honors students. Both Matt and I attended ASU, so we are a Sun Devil family!
During my free time, I enjoy rooting for the Diamondbacks, reading, and road trips. My husband and I also like to work on cars and take them on the track!
