Mrs. Inez
Aloha and welcome to first grade at Sonoran Foothills! As the school year begins, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our first grade families. I am very excited about getting to know my students and supporting them as they learn and discover new things.
This will be my 19th year of teaching first grade! It's such a joy to teach this age group. My teaching career began in Southern California before moving to Arizona. I joined Deer Valley School District in 2014 and was part of the Sonoran Foothills staff upon its opening in 2015. Go Bobcats! Currently, I'm working towards obtaining my full Gifted Endorsement. Teaching first grade is a passion of mine because I believe it is a special year in every child's educational development. Most of all, it is such a wonderful age group to teach!
Apart from my teaching career, I especially enjoy having quality family time, staying active, traveling, and reading. My husband and I are proud parents of two Grand Canyon University Lopes. Our son Kaleo is a GCU alumni and has enlisted in the Air Force. Our daughter Kiana (a former Bobcat herself) will be completing her senior year of college and Air Force ROTC officer training. Lopes up! We also have a new Eskipoo puppy named Kila who is a miniature American Eskimo and toy poodle mix that we just adore!
