FLL Robotics Coach: Mrs. Cawley (8th Grade Science & STEM)

The FIRST LEGO League Challenge (FLL Challenge) engages students in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering as they work together to design, build, and program a LEGO robot that completes missions on a themed playing field.

Each season centers on a real-world theme (such as energy, transportation, or environmental sustainability). Students:
Research and identify a problem related to the theme and develop an innovative solution.
-Design, build, and program a LEGO robot using LEGO SPIKE Prime or EV3 to complete specific missions.
-Work as a team to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and presentation skills while practicing the FIRST Core Values of discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, teamwork, and fun.

Participation in FLL Challenge helps students gain confidence in STEM, learn coding and engineering basics, and develop perseverance and creativity while having fun. Teams may also compete in local, regional, or state competitions, presenting their project and demonstrating their robot's performance to judges.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge is an excellent way for students to explore STEM in a hands-on, engaging environment while preparing for future careers and building lifelong skills.
